Senggigi Beach is only a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport at Mataram. If you get a car transfer from Lembar Harbour after catching the ferry from Bali the driver will try to sell you full package tours including hotel, trekking or snorkeling trips. If you do not have accommodation booked they will then take you to their office in Senggigi and try to sell you accommodation saying their prices are best. You can get the accommodation cheaper if you go straight to the hotel. There are many hotels within walking distance so not hard to get accommodation without paying these tourist offices.

The Pasar Seni (Art Market) is located close to the beach at the southern end of Senggigi between the Santosa and Sheraton resorts. There are a number of stalls selling handicrafts and souvenirs from around Lombok. As well as various arts they sell clothing, tshirts and sarongs at prices cheaper than you will get in Bali.

Just a 20 minute drive from Senggigi is the Pusuk Monkey forest ( in the hills on one of the roads to Bangsal Harbour. Many monkeys sit along the road side waiting for people passing by to give them food. There are a few places you can stop before you get there to buy bananas and rambutans to give to the monkeys. There are points to stop to get close to the monkeys with spectular views down to the coast line and Gili Islands.

Restaurants in Senggigi

Ye Jeon Korean Restuarant is located just next to Happy Cafe. With great Korean food. Ph: 619 4192. They do free pick up service from your hotel.

Asmara Restaurant is a really nice restaurant located on the main road of Senggigi close to the Sheraton Hotel. Serving a combination of Indonesian and Western cuisine with free WiFi internet access. Asmara offer free transport to and from the restaurant - contact them on 0370 693 619 to arrange a pick up from your hotel.

Bars in Senggigi

There are a number of good bars in Senggigi which has live music, cold beer and also serve good food. The night life is fairly tame and most bars close around around 11pm or 11.30pm. Weekends sometimes later.

Happy Cafe has live music every night of the week. Generally Reggae music though the band takes request and vary rarely doesn't know the siong being requested.

Internet in Senggigi

There are plenty of internet cafes that charge 18,000Rp per hour. They will allow you to plug your laptop in to their network for the same price.

There are also lots of WiFi hotspots all along the beach. You can purchase a card from the internet cafes for 10,000Rp per hour and use this in the restaurants, bars and hotels along the beach.
