Senaru, Lombok is the main starting point for
treks up to the top of
Mount Rinjani (Gunung Rinjani). It is located in
the hills, inland from the northern coast and around 2 - 2.5 hours from
Senggigi or Mataram airport.
Senaru has 2 waterfalls close by. The first is right next to the town centre. The Sendang Gila Waterfall is just a 10 minute walk down lots of steps from the mainroad in Senaru.
The Sendang Gila Waterfall Senaru The second waterfall is a 45 minute drive from Senaru located at the village of Bira, the Mayung Putik Falls. Getting there and away Senaru is around a 2 hour drive from Senggigi or Mataram Airport.

The accommodation at Senaru is faily basic though is a good place to stay overnight before beginning trekking up Gunung Rinjani. Rinjani Homestay is basic accommodation located in the centre of Senaru not far from the Sendang Gila waterfall. Room prices are 100,000Rp per night. Pondok Indah Senaru Cottages is located on the main road of Senaru. With basic, budget accommodation. Emy's Cafe and Guesthouse is located on the main road of Senaru not far from Sendang Gila Waterfall. Pondok Senaru Cottages is located right next to the entrance gate for the Sendang Gila Waterfalls.
