Bintan Island or Pulau Bintan is part of the Riau Province of Sumatra though it is closer to Singapore, just a 55 minute ferry ride.

 

Both the Airport and the Ferry ports in Bintan offer Visa on Arrival. You can get a 7 day visitors VISA for US$10 or 30 day visitors VISA for US$25.

Bintan's airport is called Raja Haji Fisabilillah Airport.

Tanjung Pinang Ferry Port

Arriving by Ferry

There are regular ferries from Singapore's Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal as well as from Zon Ferry Terminal in Johor Bahru in Malaysia.

Ferries leave Punggur Ferry Terminal in Batam (located on the southern coast) every 15 minutes to Bintan and the trip takes around 45 minutes. There are also ferries from Sekapung Ferry Terminal in Batam though they are less frequent.

Ferries also operate between Dumai in Sumatra and Bintan. Both Dumai Express and Batam Jet operate these ferries.

Ferries depart Tanjung Pinang on Bintan and go to Dabo on Singkep. There is only one ferry per day leaving 11am. The trip takes around 3 hours.

Bintan Resort Ferries have regular ferries from Singapore's Tanah Merah Ferry Termi nal going to Bintan's Bandar Bentan Telani. Prices from S$28.60 Adult one way. www.brf.com.sg
